History of Reiki
Reiki is an ancient healing technique which was rediscovered in Japan in 1922 by Dr. Mikao Usui. “Reiki” is the Japanese word for the concept of Universal Life Force Energy. While in the process of developing the Reiki system, Dr. Usui summarized a set of ethical principles, which later became known as The 5 Principles of Reiki, taken from Buddhist teachings.
Today, in hospitals and clinics across America, Reiki is beginning to gain acceptance as a meaningful and cost-effective way to improve patient care. This healing form of energy movement is being used in hospitals throughout the Tri-State and the country. Reiki accelerates recovery from surgery, improves mental attitude and reduces the negative effects of medication and other medical procedures.
